Steven Tyler played an acoustic set at the Melrose Ballroom in Queens late last week, showcasing the sound of his upcoming solo country debut.
Tyler busted out a set of Aerosmith classics, including "What It Takes," "Cryin," "Livin on the Edge" and "Sweet Emotion."
"I grew up in the woods of New Hampshire," "I have more country in me than people think."
A set surprise came when Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt hopped on the stage for a rendition of "More Than Words."
Tyler also covered the Janis Joplin classic "Mercedes Benz," which he says will feature on his solo LP.
"I knew if I was going to do a solo record, I had to have one of her songs on it," he told the crowd.
