The Doobie Brothers brought back former member Michael McDonald for an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon late last week.

The group reunited for three songs - "Long Train Coming," "Takin' It to the Streets" and "What a Fool Believes."

McDonald left the band in the early 1980s, but has showed up for several live gigs since, as well as featuring on the group's 2014 album, Southbound, a collab with an array of country singers, re-imagining Doobie Brothers classics.

The Doobie Brothers are currently on tour with Steve Miller Band and Gregg Allman, stopping next at Lewiston, New York's Artpark.

McDonald's fall tour begins on September 25 at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort & Amphitheater in Lincoln, California.
