Traffic on the Colombo - Badulla main road was obstructed after a landslide occurred due to the prevailing rainy weather.

Police stated that following the rain last night (24th), an earth mound collapsed onto the road near the Halduummulla Kathiresan Kovil, between Beragala and Haputale.

This blocked traffic on the road, but the Disaster Management Centre later intervened and took steps to clear one lane for traffic.
