In an effort to enhance road safety and curb traffic violations, a new measure is set to be implemented in Colombo from next Monday.

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon revealed that traffic offenders will be identified through the city's CCTV system, and corresponding fine notices will be dispatched to the registered owner's nearest police station.

This initiative aims to streamline the enforcement of traffic regulations and encourage responsible driving habits among motorists.
