Football-mad Rod Stewart can’t hide his excitement while watching his team Celtic play – by smacking a kiss on his youngest son’s cheek.

Rod, 72, took Aiden, six, and older brother Alastair, 11, to see their side in the Old Firm clash with Rangers at Celtic Park in Glasgow today.

Even a 1-1 draw couldn’t dampen his spirits.

The family time came after recent controversy when Rod apologised after being accused of mimicking a Jihadi John ISIS execution in the Abu Dhabi desert.

The singer insisted he’d actually been re-enacting Game Of Thrones.

A bizarre video posted to Instagram by Rod's wife Penny Lancaster showed the rockstar encouraging a male friend to kneel down before holding him back by his hair.

He made what appeared to be a cutting motion across his throat.

The iconic star issued an apology, saying he did not intend to cause offence and his actions had been misconstrued.

Rod said: "From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show.

"Understandably this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended.”
