HOW many of the nine films nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Oscars have you seen?

How many did you actually like?

The ‘Honest trailers’ team have cast their witty, cynical eye over this year’s contenders, delivering a verdict on each that cuts through the award season hype.

Here are a few of the highlights:

Hidden Figures

“Don’t worry, it won’t make white people feel too bad about themselves. See? Kevin Costner’s one of the good ones!”

Manchester by the Sea

“From the writer of The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle — wait, really? — comes the exact opposite of that.”

Hacksaw Ridge

“Enjoy the brief window of time before Mel Gibson burns his bridge to Hollywood again.”

Fences

“Watch what’s clearly a stage play Denzel Washington decided to film — they’re just talking in a house the entire film.

The actors bravely discover how much acting you can fit into a film... Loud acting. Nuanced acting. SNOT ACTING.”

...and plenty more. Of course La La Land cops a serve too, and if you’re one of the people who think the charming musical perhaps doesn’t deserve its title as the most-nominated film in Oscar history, it should raise a chuckle.

And a warning - the clip they’ve included from Mel Gibson’s ultra-violent Hacksaw Ridge is very gory viewing:
