Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is one of the peers and admirers of Prince that will be featured in a new documentary about the late music icon's early years.

Prince: R U Listening?, which will be directed by producer Michael Kirk, is expected to be released next year.

U2's Bono, Lenny Kravitz, Billy Idol and Sheila E will also be featured in interviews for the new documentary.

The documentary will feature interviews with Dez Dickerson and André Cymone.

Dickerson was part of Prince's touring band in the 1980s and Cymone played bass in Prince's band Grand Central back in the 1970s.
