Aretha Franklin performed a lengthy version of the "National Anthem" for the Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings NFL game. Franklin's rendition became as much of a topic as the game itself.
The soul singer sang the "Star Spangled Banner" for 4-minutes and 35 seconds.
This outdoes Whitney Huston's famous 1991 Super Bowl performance, which clocked in at 2-minutes and 20 seconds.
Fans took to Twitter to comment on the long rendition. One fan tweeted, "I cooked my whole turkey, ate and did the dishes during Aretha Franklin's National Anthem performance."
Even the CBS production team joked as they included the soul singer on the "time of possession" graphic, which showed how long each team held the ball, and how long Franklin held the audience's attention.
