Roger Daltrey, the frontman of The Who, declared in a recent interview that rock n' roll as a genre has reached the end of the road.

However, all hope does not seem lost, as Daltrey pointed to the world of hip hop as a ray of hope.

In an interview with The Times Of London, Daltrey said, "The sadness for me is that rock has reached a dead end.

The only people saying things that matter are the rappers and most pop is meaningless and forgettable. . . .

You watch these people and you can't remember a bloody thing."

Daltrey and The Who recently played both weekends of the Desert Trip festival in Coachella, California.

They were joined there by a number of other rock legends including Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and the Rolling Stones.
