The rumors can now be put to rest.

Bruce Springsteen confirmed that he did in fact write a song for the Harry Potter film series, but it was never used.

The song was titled "I'll Stand By You."

Springsteen stated in an interview with BBC Radio 2 that, "it was pretty good.

It was a song that I wrote for my eldest son, it was a big ballad that was very uncharacteristic of something I'd sing myself."

The Boss went on to say that, "at some point I'd like to get it into a children's movie of some sort because it was a pretty lovely song."

Springsteen wrapped up his The River Tour in September 2016.

He does however have upcoming shows in Australia beginning in late January 2017.
