Legendary musician Chuck Berry announced on his 90th birthday that he will be releasing his first album in close to forty years.

The new album, which will be titled Chuck, will be out sometime in 2017.

Berry's new album will consist of mostly new material, which he himself will write and produce.

Berry will be joined in his effort by a band that includes two of his children, Charles Berry, Jr. on guitar and Ingrid Berry on harmonica.

"This record is dedicated to my beloved Toddy," Berry stated, referring to his wife Themetta Berry, to whom he was married for 68 years.

"My darlin' I'm growing old! I've worked on this record for a long time. Now I can hang up my shoes!"

Berry's last studio effort was Rock It back in 1979.
