A comic book version of John Lennon is on the way.

The former Beatle will get a full graphic biography put out by IDW Publishing.

The company revealed the project at the 2016 New York Comic Con.

The comic book is called simply Lennon and is based on a 2010 novel by French writer David Foenkinos.

The comic book is scheduled to be released this May.

The original book told Lennon's story through sessions with a theapist.

Using that device, it touches on aspects of the rock legend's entire life.

This includes his youth, his time with the Beatles and his solo endeavors, including his life and collaborations with Yoko Ono.
