A massive box set spanning more than a decade of Lou Reed's career is now available to the public.

The set, called The RCA & Arista Album Collection, brings together Reed's live and studio albums from the period of 1972 through 1986.

In total, the collection consists of 16 albums, all remastered for the box set.

Reed personally oversaw the process of remastering the albums.

It was his final project before passing away in 2013 at the age of 71.

The current box set contains CD versions of the albums. However, a vinyl version of the collection is set to be released on November 18.

The set covers Reed's career from Lou Reed and the legendary Transformer in 1972 until the release of Mistrial in 1986.
