Billy Joel has rescheduled his upcoming performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden due to his upcoming sinus surgery.

According to News, Joel will undergo endoscopic sinus surgery to remove blockage in his sinuses.

He will require rest afterwards so he was forced to reschedule his performance at Madison Square Garden on September 30.

That show, part of his monthly residency at the New York City venue, is being pushed back to November 21.

A spokesman for Joel said "due to endoscopic sinus surgery, Billy Joel will reschedule his upcoming September 30th concert at Madison Square Garden to November 21, 2016.

The procedure will require him to rest his voice and avoid any strenuous activity.

With several weeks of rest, Billy is expected to make a full recovery."
