Bruce Springsteen gave the engagement gift of a lifetime to one lucky couple, pausing his recent show and inviting them up on stage for the proposal.

The show took place at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium and the Boss put a hold on his track "Jersey Girl" when he noticed the possible proposal going on in the front row.

"What's going on down there?" asked The Boss, half-singing, as the crowd laughed and cheered.

"What the hell is going on down there?"

The pair then slow danced on stage and when handed the mic the groom-to-be said, "Jill, you're my best friend," he told her as Springsteen looked on in approval.

"I love you more than anyone else in the world.

I love you more than music itself. Hell, I love you more than Bruce! Sorry, Bruce.

I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."
