A new Beach Boys compilation featuring some of the earliest recordings has been released as a two-disc set on Omnivore Records.

The recordings are pre-Capital Records era sessions.

These recordings have come out in fragments over the years. Often they were released without permission and therefore suffered from inferior sound quality.

In 1991 DCC Compact Classics was able to use the master tapes and released a fraction of these recordings.

The new Omnivore set, however, is a collection of all available pre-Capital tapes and has been released with full cooperation of the band.
