Eagles bassist, Timothy B. Schmit has released a new song. The track, "Red Dirt Road" appears on Schmit's newest solo album, Leap of Faith.
The tune breaks with traditional formulas, which Schmit helped to pioneer.
Rather than singing about the red dirt roads of Texas or Oklahoma, these red dirt roads are located in Hawaii.
The Hawaiian island, Kauai has "some rich deep soil," says Schmit.
He went on to say, "You have a good chance of growing a plumeria tree by just sticking a branch of a plumeria into the ground.
It's unbelievable. That was the motivation."
Leap of Faith is Schmit's first solo release since 2001.
The material on the album was written over the years between breaks from Eagles' writing and touring.
The album will be released on September 23, which live performances scheduled to coincide with its release.
