Joni Mitchell made her first public appearance since suffering a life-threatening aneurysm last year.

The legendary singer made the rare appearance at jazz pianist Chick Corea's show at the Catalina Bar and Grill in Los Angeles.

In addition to taking in the performance, she posed for a photo at her table with friends.

"We are thrilled to see Joni out and about again," Mitchell's website said, while her Facebook feed posted the Corea concert photo and added, "She's back!"

"I . . . listened to Joni Mitchell in the late '60s," Corea said. "I thought she was a really creative lady in the way she made her music.

She was delicate with the form of her music.

Her music didn't have a lot of force in it, but it had a great groove and a great message."
