Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have both confirmed that the Beatles could likely have toured again before they broke up.
Starr explained that while they hadn't wanted to tour throughout the latter years of their career no one ever completely ruled the idea out.
"It wasn't like we'd placed a wreath on the live Beatles," He added, "We could maybe have gone out live again. It didn't happen.
But it was never like, 'Oh, that's dead, the Beatles are dead. It was always a possibility that we would do it again.'"
Macca also recently recalled an attempt to rekindle the touring flame, which he says was met with nothing other than laughter.
Their touring years will, however, live again in Ron Howard's new documentary The Beatles: Eight Days a Week — The Touring Years.
According to a promo, "It will explore their inner workings - how they made decisions, created their music and built their collective career together."
