Paul Simon has hinted at hanging up his guitar for good when his current tour comes to a close.

Simon said "Showbiz doesn't hold any interest for me," adding "It's an act of courage to let go.

I am going to see what happens if I let go.

Then I'm going to see, who am I? Or am I just this person that was defined by what I did? And if that's gone, if you have to make up yourself, who are you?"

Simon said that he plans to "drift and travel for a year" after wrapping up his tour in Ireland.

Simon's current tour comes to an end in Dublin in November, following a string of European gigs.

In the U.S., his final date would be in Queens, New York.
