Bob Dylan offered up a cover of the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic "Free Bird" during a recent performance.

The unexpected choice came during an appearance at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles and saw him offer up a bunch of his classics including "She Belongs to Me," "Tangled Up in Blue" and "Blowin' in the Wind."

Thus far the legend has issued no word as to whether the song was performed at the request of an inebriated audience member.

Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington recently spoke on the rock show cliché, noting why he may, in fact, be the only musician on the planet that doesn't think screaming out "Free Bird!" is obnoxious.

"It's kind of embarrassing if you're with the band that's playing," he said.

"But it's a great honor and it's great that people do that. It's funny, I hear it not just at concerts, but at movies or anywhere there's a crowd."
