Ringo Starr is on tour this summer and the creative juices are still flowing.

The 75-year-old Beatles legend tells reporters that he has eight songs in the works.

They need some lyrics, but Starr thinks they will make up a new album sometime next year.

"We've got the tracks down; now we have to write the words," Starr says.

"We know where it's going.

We've got the idea. We've got the first verse of one of them.

The second will be a ballad. We're gonna finish them while we're on the road."

He'll be working with Eurythmics member Dave Stewart on one of the tracks.

Starr last released Postcards in Paradise on March 31, 2015.
