Peter Frampton has opened up about his decision to refrain from playing the Humble Pie songs that he did not record.

Speaking with fans on Twitter he explained why he has held off from playing those tunes and why he feels it's best to keep his shows for his own music.

One fan asked Frampton if he'd consider playing the song "30 Days in the Hole" from the album Smokin' from 1971.

Frampton was quick to point out, however, he had almost nothing to do with that particular track.

"No. Because that was Humble Pie after I had left. Unfortunately, I'm not on that track," he told the questioning fan.

He told another fan "I'm not Steve Marriot!" before closing the book with another fan, writing, "Well, thank you Lenny.

I miss HP too but it's best we listen to the original and just enjoy the real thing!"
