A former member of the Brian Wilson's band has been convicted of rape.

The man, named Scott Bennett, was a multi-instrumentalist that toured consistently with Wilson starting in 1998.

His conviction came following and week-long trial and he was found guilty of rape by instrumentation and sexual battery.

His conviction came largely due to video evidence that shows Bennett apparently preventing a young woman from exiting an elevator at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa.

The video then shows him carrying her down the hallway to his hotel room where she exits 35 minutes later.

The musician's attorney said she plans to appeal the case immediately.

"It's a tragedy all the way around," she told the World. "Two drunk people running into each other — now one person's a convicted sex offender."
