A Malibu cave made famous by a Jim Morrison rumor is being closed for cleaning.

Fans of Morrison have flocked the site of Corral Canyon Cave in California after it was spread on social media that he used to frequent the cave to write.

This rumor has never been proven true, however, tons of graffiti artists have visited the spot and tagged the cave. Some of the graffiti features Doors lyrics and some of it seems to have no connection with the band.

"It exploded over last summer and graffiti has been increasing ever since," said California State Parks District Supt. Craig Sap. "People are posting pictures of the cave 30 or 40 times a day."

Cleaning up the cave will cost approximately $40,000. As of right now the area has been closed off and there is no set date to when it could reopen.
