Paul Simon has released a new single titled "Cool Papa Bell."

The track is set to drop as part of Simon's new release Stranger to Stranger, which is due for release on June 3.

He has previously opened up with about the direction of the release.

"About getting you to actually hear something in a new way . . . about making music that sounds old and new at the same time - music with a sense of mystery," he said while first announcing the album.

He also adds that his new release was influenced by composer Harry Partch.

"Partch said there were 43 tones to an octave and not 12," explained Simon. "

He had a totally different approach to what music is and had to build his own instruments so he could compose on a microtonal scale.

That microtonal thinking pervades this album."
