Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger recently paid tribute to Prince on social media.

Prince, 57, was found dead by police at his Paisley Park home. No cause of death has been given, although he had been suffering from the flu for several weeks.

"God bless this creative giant. Thanks Prince. Love X Paul," wrote Macca on Twitter.

In a series of tweets, Jagger added, "I am so saddened to hear of Prince's passing.

Prince was a revolutionary artist, a wonderful musician and composer. Prince was an original lyricist and a startling guitar player.

His talent was limitless. Prince was one of the most unique and exciting artists of the last 30 years."

McCartney's former bandmate Ringo Starr wrote "God bless Prince we will all miss him," while Jagger's bandmate Ron Wood noted, "I will miss a good friend who was so talented."
