Aretha Franklin is "ready to sign for the movie" about her life, she announced at her birthday party last week.
The Queen of Soul will work with Scott Bernstein (producer, Straight Outta Compton), on the biopic, which has been in development since 2011.
Rumor has it that Jennifer Hudson is in talks to play Franklin, although she originally said she wanted Halle Berry for the role.
Franklin is scheduled to perform at the International Jazz Day All-Star Global Concert in honor of the fifth annual International Jazz Day on April 29.
Others set to take the stage include Buddy Guy, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Pat Matheny, Diana Krall, Wayne Shorter and many others.
Washington, D.C. is this year's International Jazz Day host city.
The International Jazz Day All-Star Global Concert will be broadcast on ABC on April 30.
