Carlos Santana says that Journey ought to reunite with Steve Perry.

His old bandmate Neal Schon is the leader of Journey, and Santana, speaking with Q104.3, says that Schon and Perry need to make amends.

"I dream of Neal and I going to Fresno and talking to Steve Perry," Santana said.

"If Santana can do Santana IV . . . There's a chemistry between Neal and Steve Perry."

Santana IV, which features a reunion of the band's mid-1970s lineup, including Schon, is out now.

Perry joined Journey in 1977 four years after Schon formed the group with fellow Santana alum Gregg Rolie.

He left the group in the late 1990s due to health reasons.

"It's 2016," Santana added in the interview, "Like Neal says, time is short."
