Former Eagles bassist Randy Meisner has been placed on a psychiatric hold following his wife's accidental death earlier this month.

The rocker's wife, Lana Meisner, was killed after a rifle accidentally discharged in the couple's Los Angeles home on Sunday.

The incident reportedly occurred just 90 minutes after the LAPD had been called to the home for a domestic abuse accusation.

Meisner was quickly cleared of any suspicion in the death, however, and it was ruled that his wife was killed while moving a gun case holding the loaded weapon.
