Bill Wyman, former Rolling Stones bassist, has been diagnosed with cancer, his rep announced in a statement.

"Bill has been diagnosed with prostate cancer," reads the statement.

"He is undergoing treatment and is expected to make a full recovery as it was caught in the early stages. The Wyman family has asked for their privacy during this time."

Wyman, 79, joined the Stones in 1962 and left in 1993, making the occasional appearance with the band since. He's currently on tour with his blues rock band Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings.

Last week, it was announced that the Stones will perform in Havana, Cuba.

An article, printed in the paper Granma, announced the concert, calling it "a historic moment that will open the doors for other great bands to arrive in Havana."

However, a U.S. source told Billboard that the deal had not been finalized.
