Elton John played a surprise pre-Oscars show in West Hollywood on Sunday.

The Rocket Man gave the performance for free to thank the city of West Hollywood for hosting his annual Oscar viewing party for the Elton John AIDS Foundation for 24 consecutive years.

"We've raised millions and millions of dollars to help people with AIDS throughout the whole world and America," John told the crowd.

John has raised more than $321 million through his Elton John AIDS Foundation for the treatment and prevention of HIV and AIDS.

His set included fan favorites like "The B***h Is Back," "Bennie and the Jets," "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer" and "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting."

John was joined by Lady Gaga for his second to last song, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me."
