Elton John has some harsh words for his fellow classic rock icons the Rolling Stones, opining that the band "wants to be relevant" in an interview with an American radio station.
The complaint, however, didn't come without constructive criticism.
"What I think the Rolling Stones should do is a great blues record, and go back to what they used to do - and do things like 'Come On,' the Chuck Berry song like they did in their early career," John said.
"That is what they should do. I think Mick wants to still be relevant on the radio.
Well, they are not. And I think Keith would love to do a record like that. And that is what they should be doing."
Last week, Elton revealed that he plans to connect with the Killers to co-write for their forthcoming new album. Speaking with NME, Sir Elton said he's hoping to head stateside to commence the writing sessions as soon as this spring.
"I'm hoping to go to Vegas and write with fronter Brandon Flowers for the new Killers record . . . So that'll be interesting."%MCEPASTEBIN%
