The Rolling Stones are under 24-hour armed guard escort after a worker at their show in Buenos Aires, Brazil was killed.

According to The Mirror, the worker was "shot dead in a botched attempt to steal the drinks takings from their packed out show at La Plata stadium."

"Wealthy personalities are always potential targets, but the band are kept safe and secure at all times by the best security personnel on the planet," a source told the paper.

"They choose their hotels carefully, travel in separate vehicles which also reduces the risks, and are surrounded by armed security."

The Evening Standard reports that the truck carrying the money from the concert's drink sales was targeted by thieves.

A 55-year-old contractor named Pedro Luis Tabares caught a bullet and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police have arrested a Colombian Jhon Alexander Bobadilla Vega in connection with the attack.
