David Bowie's son Duncan Jones has revealed that he is going to be a father, breaking the news in a tweet which paid tribute to his late father.

Jones told Bowie that he was going to be a grandparent in December with a card that included a moving drawing referencing the circle of life.

Jones shared a picture of the card on Twitter, where he said his baby is due in June.

"1 month since dad died today. Made this card for him at Christmas. Due in June. Circle of life. Love you, granddad," Jones tweeted.

Bowie passed away 18 months after being diagnosed with liver cancer.

Jones has since been flooded with messages of congratulations from well-wishers, with one praising his wife's strength after going through so much.

"She has," he replied. "She's amazing!" Bowie's supermodel wife Iman also sent her blessings in an Instagram post.
