Heart's Nancy Wilson is featured in the upcoming documentary Turn It Up! A Celebration of the Electric Guitar in which she talks about the early days as a female in a male dominated industry.

"We didn't have any concept of a sexual identity that we were supposed to follow. We were kids, so we just went, 'cool, we'll be like the Beatles, we'll just get guitars and learn how to do it,'" she said.

"Later, when we started getting noticed was when we saw the tyranny of the sexual identity thing."

Turn It Up!, with narration by Kevin Bacon, also features Slash, Jerry Cantrell, Rob Zombie and Paul Stanley.

The film also includes one of the last recorded interviews with the late blues legend BB King.

The doc "honors the beloved electrified six-string and recognizes the rich bond between musician and instrument, and the pilgrimage to find the ultimate guitar and perfect tone.
