Brothers and Kinks stars Ray and Dave Davies shared the stage at London's Islington Assembly Hall for a performance of their classic "You Really Got Me" on Friday, December 18.

Ray surprised the audience by getting on stage with Dave and his band, receiving an introduction from the latter and a warm welcome from the crowd.

"We had a great night," Dave Davies wrote on Twitter after the gig. "It was a fun show, had a blast with Ray."

The performance has doubtlessly rekindled hopes of Kinks fans for an upcoming reunion.

Earlier this year, Dave Davies, speaking with Rolling Stone, said there's an "outside shot" the two could reunite the band.

"A lot of it depends on how Ray and I feel by the end of the year, physically, emotionally and psychologically.

I wish I could give you a more definitive answer, but I don't want to jump the gun."
