In the wake of last week's Paris attacks, Bob Dylan asked for beefed up security at his recent show at Italy's Teatro Auditorium Manzoni.

Dylan's request added 12 armed guards to be posted at the venue's various entrances, as well as the stage and backstage area.

In addition, plainclothes security officials blended in with the crowd and local police held down the perimeter.

A rep for the venue told the Corriere della Sera newspaper that it was the first time a performer had demanded extra security at the venue.

Some acts - including the Foo Fighters, Marilyn Manson, and the Deftones - have postponed European tours following the November 13 attacks, during which, among other gathering places, the Bataclan concert hall was shot up, killing over 100 people.

The Eagles of Death Metal were playing a show and released a statement that said they are "still trying to come to terms with what happened."
