A North Florida man has been arrested after crashing into the mailbox of Rod Stewart.
Michael Hutson Lutz, 37, of Niceville caused $500 damage to the mailbox at Stewart's South Ocean Boulevard home, police said.
Lutz was attempting to pull over for police when he crashed into the mailbox.
He was charged with driving under the influence and property damage.
Lutz failed five field sobriety tests and registered .21 on one breath test and .22 on another, police said.
According to the report, Officer Robert Seay saw Lutz driving a four-door 2002 white Toyota and straddling the white line on the far right side of the road at 6:53 p.m. while going northbound on South Ocean Boulevard.
The car then crossed the center line while negotiating the curve at 1500 S. Ocean.
After the curve, Seay turned on his lights and siren, signaling Lutz to pull over.
That's when Lutz hit the mailbox with the rear passenger door of the car.
Stewart's representatives were notified.
