HBO has confirmed that Vinyl, a new series from Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger based on the turbulent 1970s rock and roll scene in New York City, will premiere in February.

Boardwalk Empire's Terence Winter is also behind the new project, according to Deadline.

Vinyl's 10-episode first season will premiere on Sunday, February 14 at 9 p.m. The premiere will be a two-hour episode directed by Scorsese.

Vinyl chronicles the life and times of the fictional record label American Century Records and its leader, Richie Finestra Bobby Cannavale.

Trailers for the show feature plenty of live rock shows, packed houses and cheering crowds.

The show also stars Olivia Wilde, Ato Essandoh, Ray Romano, Max Casella,P.J. Byrne, J.C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, Jagger's son James Jagger and Paul Ben-Victor.
