Elton John is in the studio working with Clean Bandit fronter Jack Patterson as well as songwriter and producer Jimmy Napes.

The singer hit Instagram to dish on the collabs.

"I love it when friendship springs from artistic collaboration," wrote John.

"Jack Patterson with Clean Bandit and I have just been writing in the studio with Jimmy Napes.

Jack is a lovely guy and we had fun catching up over lunch."

During an August interview, John's producer, T-Bone Burnett, told reporters that his upcoming album would be rockin.'

"It's a very upbeat rock 'n' roll record," said Burnett.

"The last album was a particular group of very personal material; this is broadcasting. That one was a parlor record; this is a festival."

It's not clear whether the Patterson and Napes collaborations will be on the same record as the one T-Bone worked.
