Try a cream blush

During a busy day, it’s more of a hassle to use the typical brush and powder blush combo to perk up a pale face. Instead, grab a cream blush in a compact and use your fingertips to blend it into the apples of your cheeks. Or, to save even more time, choose a cream blush that comes in a twist-top tube that can be applied directly to your cheeks. This can be done within seconds and only requires a single product, making it much more efficient. Cream blush also stains your cheeks longer than a powder blush, making it ideal for days when a touchup isn’t possible. For long lasting color, choose hues in berry or a crimson red. For a more subtle, natural look, try ballet pink or peach.

Choose a bold lip color

A great way to make it appear as if you’re wearing more when you’re really wearing less – especially on days when an all over makeup application isn’t possible – is by choosing a bold, flashy lip color. Shades like plum, deep orange or a vibrant red stand out while also matching most outfits. Keep a tube handy in your purse or pocket so freshening up is easy.

Choose a pearlescent eye shadow

A little can go a long way when using a sheer eye shadow. Simply grab a product that has a metallic or pearly shimmer and sweep it over your lids, starting in the middle and lightly blending it toward the inner and outer corners. For a more dramatic look, blend a thin layer up to your eyebrows. This can be done with a brush or your fingertips if you’re on the go. Shades in opal, gold and champagne are subtle and complement any outfit and any occasion, making them perfect go-to colors.For a more pronounced look, try shades in bronze, purple or pink, which will stand out more. For longer wear, swap loose powder shadows for cream-based blends.

Line your waterlines

By lining your upper and lower waterlines only, you can quickly achieve a sultry, eye-popping look. Use a mechanical eye pencil instead of one that needs a sharpener to achieve a quick, dark line – no sharpening necessary. With the eye pencil, gently pull your upper eyelid up and out with your finger, making sure you can easily – and very gently – slide the pencil across your upper lash line without getting it in your eye. Repeat this with your lower lash line and make sure to meet the lines in the inner and outer corners of your eye. To take this even further, choose a fun color – like teal or purple – instead of black and make your eyes really stand out.
