By now we all know that a great pair of jeans is a wardrobe MUST.
I definitely have a couple of pairs that I consistently reach for to complete my look.
However, when a new season is upon us, I like to add at least one pair to my arsenal that is more trend-forward and this spring is no exception.
There are some seriously gorgeous trends out there!
Here are my top 5 denim trends for spring 2017:
1. Patchwork
Patchwork denim seems to be the biggest trend this spring.
This textural, layered style is definitely a statement maker, so I suggest pairing these jeans with a simple white tee and great pair of leather booties.
2. '70s Inspired
Flare jeans are back in a BIG way this spring!
This flattering style is definitely inspired by the 1970s and a really fun way to change up your look.
I like to put a more boho spin on my look by wearing flared jeans with a patterned peasant top and clogs.
I find that platforms or a shoe with a heel helps me feel less frumpy in this style because they elongate your legs so much.
3. Cropped at the Ankle
Admittedly, it's taken me a while to embrace the cropped jean look, but now I'm fully converted! I love this style for spring when it's paired with a great pair of lace up heels.
This is a great look for a casual Friday outfit to wear to work and then to a happy hour this spring.
4. Light Wash
I feel like dark wash has had its day, but now is the time to really embrace light washed denim!
This lighter hue of denim feels very airy and spring-like, especially when worn with a lacy white top and a pair of fun espadrilles.
5. Printed and Patterned
For the more adventurous and fashion-forward, patterned jeans are a great option this spring!
There are tons of ways to incorporate pattern into your denim arsenal, like with printing, embellishment, embroidery, and appliqué.
Because patterned denim is definitely a statement maker, I'd suggest wearing this trend with pieces that are more simplified and basic in color and texture.
Let the jeans do the talking!
