Ingredients:
- 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced thinly
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice wine (mirin)
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 onion, sliced thinly
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice wine, garlic, ginger, and black pepper.
- Add the sliced beef to the bowl and stir to coat evenly. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavour.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and julienned carrot and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
